Back in the early 1960s, a friend had one of these (or something similar) in his new Corvair.  Unless the car was sitting still, it was pretty much useless, since the stylus would skip across the record at the slightest bump in the road.  I don't recall much detail about the unit other than it was a major pain in the ash due to the frequent stylus skipping on the records.:angry:  My friend told me that the records he used in the player tended to wear out quickly, apparently due to excessive stylus pressure, which was employed to hopefully reduce the incidence of skipping while driving.  I guess it would be a cool period-correct accessory ... just don't play your treasured collector 45 rpm records on it.:o
