Guest Philthy
Hello, my mother has a 1999 Buick Riviera Silver Arrow in excellent condition. GM only made 200 of these special models. Unfortunately, she scraped the side of the car on the garage door jamb and the dealer says two parts are no longer available from GM. I was wondering if anyone had any sources for obscure parts like these. The parts in question are the passenger rear wheelwell trim and the "silver arrow" logo that mounts on the rear quarter panel. Any help is appreciated Phil Macomb, MI
John_S_in_Penna
Phil, one possibility is the internet site www.car-part.com, where you can search participating junkyards for the part you need. If anyone has a Riviera parts car 1995-99, he would likely have the wheel-well trim--assuming it's the same for all those years. You might also post your question in the forum's specific category of "Buick Riviera--Riviera Owners' Association." Just scroll down the list of topics and you'll find it next to other Buick-related categories. The folks there are devoted to Buick Rivieras, and you might get more knowledgeable answers there. Once you get that scarce car back into its sleek undamaged shape, tell your mom that it's now a collector car. Preserve it for history's sake, so years from now you can show your grandchildren the family car from 1999!
Guest Philthy
Thanks John....will do. New member and did not notice there were model-specific areas on the forum. Hard to navigate on my phone, lol. Thanks again!
