oldford Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Perhaps some of you wheel experts (Layden???) will recognize these rims. I have a set of 5 rims that fit 25" wood wheels that have 3 pieces. One is the center ring and the other two are each of the side rings. The center ring has a lock near the valve stem hole and two grooves that accept the side rings. I looks as though the center ring will expand to lock the side rings in place. Anyone seen these before? I was thinking of our friend that has 25" clinchers on his Hudson. Maybe these are for straight side conversion?? Layden B Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 I believe these to be late 1920's truck rims. Sorry I do not know the manufacturer. Can you measure the rim size ( tire inside diameter) at arrows? They may be 24", a common truck tire size.
oldford Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 (edited) The rings have a 25" diameter and the center ring is 3" wide. When you add both rings to the center they measure 4" wide where the tire goes. They had 33 x 4 tires that were with them, but they were so bad that I did not take them. I think these are too light weight for a truck. I wonder how they were fastened to the wheel. The center of the wide rim is dropped as if to accept a wood felloe.
