1920 Renault? in VA

Recommended Posts

Wonder what the story is behind it?  Salvage title and indication the car was "stripped."  The rear body framework would support a nice rear entrance toneau body.  I can just imaging it with an impressive set of brass lamps.  The plaque is an official dating plaque from the Veteran Car Club of Great Britain so it's obviously an import from England.  If anyone has a background on the car it would be great to post it .

I believe it is a Model AG or AX Renault from around 1909-1911' ish. These are really popular amongst the 1 and 2 cylinder people. They have a two cylinder, vertical engine that makes good power and rpms. They really  go down the road nicely and have a three-speed transmission. They have  proven to be very reliable tour cars and there are quite a few of them in the USA. The body on this one looks a homemade, but this is a great basis for a desirable car. It would be well worth pursuing.
