Guest Tomh115 Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 My grandfather restored this car back in the 50s. Eventually sold it to buy my grandmother's engagement ring (now passed down to my wife). My dad tells me it is a 35-37 Ford, but the grill and bumper look off to me. Thoughts?
gwells Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 1936 Ford with some sort of additional wrap-around trim, perhaps an accessory. Can't say I've ever seen those before. And the bumper is not correct for a 1936 Ford as far as I know.
paul55 Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 The 1936 Ford has Pines trim. This same company made the Pines winter front, both aftermarket accessories to dress up the Ford. 2
Brass is Best Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 That 1936 Ford has pines trim, 40 ford bumper guards, Cadillac hubcaps and a Radio! Not to mention the Emerald Green Metallic Paint which was popular about 1953. The car appears to have a 1951 plate on it. 1
Guest Tomh115 Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Wow. You guys are good. The aftermarket trim make sense. I'll have to dig up photos of the other cars he worked on to identify what they are now.
