Bhigdog Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Yup, always a nicely run local nice show, good weather and great pix. Thanx. I especially like the second pix in the series. What a beautiful 57 Buick. I understand the owner is a really good guy. Smart and handsome as Hell. ...........................Bob 1
TerryB Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Thanks for the pics! They used to get a lot of Studebaker cars at that show and a nice collection of prewar cars. Are the hit and miss engines still there? Terry
oldcarfudd Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 That's a surprising percentage of AACA award winners!
cutlasguy Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 The AACA Senior Winners show up in great numbers because of the award! It's a die cast 1/24 th scale car mounted on a wooden base. Every year it's a different car and always a surprise. Plus they have an organized winners parade before they announce the class winners. We all drive up through the crowd to get it! 1
kevin1221 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 WOW.......what a variety of cars. Looks like a great show. Thanks for posting. Kevin

Terry Not trying to hi jack the thread but the engines are still there but only a couple this year for some reason. Still a nice assortment of Studes. Flea market gets a bit bigger every year. Nice show, only $10, great barbecued half chicken dinners, live music, friendly folks who seem glad to see you and free trailer parking. The show should be used as template for some other shows. All of the above and they still turn a profit for the local Lions club..................Bob Edited September 13, 2017 by Bhigdog (see edit history) 1
John_S_in_Penna Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the pictures, Cutlass Guy. I always look forward to your pictures, because they're a "show report" of what types of cars come out. By the way, in what state is Strausstown? cutlasguy Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 As I was taking my pictures, I noticed that all the Studebakers were being waved through as they approached the registration table. Does their club pay a blanket registration fee for them, or do the Lions let them in for free as a draw. Don't get me wrong. I feel that the award I get as a National Winner is more than generous. I was just curious.
SC38dls Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 John there is a Strausstown PA just NW of Philadelphia. Not sure if that is the same town but the only one I've ever heard of.
Bhigdog Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Located about mid way between Allentown and Harrisburg, PA just 1/2 mile South of Rt 78................Bob Edited September 13, 2017 by Bhigdog (see edit history)
Walt G Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Wonderful photographs, thanks for posting, NEAT CARS!

I was just curious. Could be one of a few reasons. They could be a Studebaker club that does not want to be judged or a draw as you suggest or maybe they self-judge club member's cars (quite a few local show I have attended have a marque club hold their own meet within a local meet). As usual, cutlasguy, very nice photos. Thank you. Peter J.
