Need Help Identifying Very Old Giant GMC Badge **PHOTOS**

Hello everyone I am new to the group. I am sorting through some of the last antiques from my late fathers huge antique collection when I came across a giant GMC badge I cannot identify. Looking to find out what make... model... years this would have been on as I would like to list it on eBay as soon as I can get complete info. 

At first I thought it was off of a bus but cannot find any old bus photos online that have this badge. It's 31 INCHES long!

Read his edit history he initially said 1958... then he edited to add 1959 but thanks for the know it all answer.
