Guest Onea Lucian Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 First of all please excuse my english, I m from Romania. I found this car plate with a metal detector at an 1904-1940 castle(Bornemizsa Elemer castle). I search everywhere for an answer and i didn't find any. I want to know what model of car is and if it is a data base where i can find the owner of the car.
Craig Gillingham Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 I can tell you a little bit, -Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, also known as DMG, was the parent company that made Mercedes cars and Daimler trucks before their merger in 1926 with Benz. After 1926 the company became Daimler-Benz. The cars and the trucks were now known as Mercedes-Benz from then on. So, your plate pre-dates the 1926 merger, however, I can't help you with the other details, apart from Unterurkheim being one of DMG's factories. As far as I can tell, your plate could have come off a Mercedes car (not a Mercedes-Benz), a Daimler truck or possibly something else that DMG made at that time, possibly an industrial engine, aero engine, I'm not sure. You'll need someone fluent in German to be able to decipher the rest of the data, like what's a Best No. and GEW.Kg mean, etc.
Guest Onea Lucian Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 thank you very much. I will try to find a german site or i wil try to sent a mail to daimler, maybe they will answer.
