Guest suepahfly Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I am the proud owner of, as I was told, a 1917 Maxwell Touring Sedan (Model 25 I believe). It is very rough and incomplete. I have the frame, most of the body from cowl back, except the floors, front axle, rear axle (not the pinion though), wheels in very rough shape, and various other small parts. I've been trying to find a serial number for the car. I found a PDF that was posted in this forum, that said that after 1916, the serial number was on a plate under the front seat, and then also die sunk at the left side of the front cross member, and the right side of the rear cross member. I've looked, and couldn't find them. It looks like it's been painted a few times, so it may be buried under paint. I was wondering if anyone had more specific locations for where the serial number is on the frame. Thanks for your help, Lucas
hddennis Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) I've never heard of nor seen the front cross member stamped but do know it is on the right side rear cross member right next to the spring mount. Howard Dennis Edited September 5, 2017 by hddennis (see edit history)
Guest suepahfly Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Thank you so much. I found it, it was very hard to see. But I verified it's a 1917. Thanks again, Lucas
