Sadly, that pretty much characterizes all GM cars of that period. The company wasn't trying very hard, and that's why their market share has deteriorated so much today. As an example of how bad things were, the 1980-1990 B-body wagons were IDENTICAL from the firewall back. Even drivetrains were the same (the Caprice wagons used the Olds 307 too). Her husband purchased it from the second owner and hoped to fix all the little things it needed but passed away before he could. It's on eBay right now.
