dtdoerfler Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Hello friends, just wanted to share some pictures of houston. I was very fortunate. Some people had up to 8 feet of water! I was able to save my 1924 dodge. The people who have come to help with our city have been wonderful including Houstonians! 7 1
SC38dls Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Hopefully you, your family and the Dodge are high and dry now. Our prayers are with you all.
MochetVelo Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Nice photos. I hope your engine was above the water line.
Marty Roth Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 NIce photo of you rescuing that big truck and pulling it through the flooded area. Those early Dodge Brothers were solid and dependable 5
Grimy Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Thank goodness! I know you have other priorities, but repacking wheel bearings and checking for water intrusion into the differential need to be done. As Marty says, nice job pulling that Twice-and-a-Half! 1 1
JFranklin Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 That will surely tighten up the spokes for a while. Clean and inspect the driveline carefully.
Dynaflash8 Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 That's wonderful. I've really been worried about people I know there. One in particular had sever very rare and expensive cars, including a 1935 Auburn, a big Packard, and another pre-1920 super-rare car. The name escapes me. I pray for everyone in this situation.
jrbartlett Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Dynaflash, that's me you're wondering about. I now live on a hillside (rare in this area) north of Houston overlooking a creek that looked like the Mississippi River during the height of the rain. But it never came more than halfway up the hill. All my cars are fine. My former house in Houston -- which you visited -- was flooded. We're all concerned about the Doerflers' situation and will be over to help when the water goes down -- which is probably a week or two away.
