Guest Zaksbarbershop Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 89 tc . Is there supposed to be a hose attached here (pic) what is it called and what does it do? Thank you in advance.
Reaper1 Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Ah. Somebody has swapped the Teves system out for the regular vacuum brakes! Hemi has a write-up on this and he covers that IIRC.

Thank you in advance. This looks familiar... One problem we who try to answer questions is that we don't know what you have so answers can easily be incorrect. The hose connection that feeds the heater /AC control vacuum circuit is connected here on my TC which has also been altered.
Bill Reichert Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Did you buy that from someone in Florissant Mo.?
Guest Zaksbarbershop Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 (edited) i bought it in st peters mo. Right across the river. Do you know the car? Edited August 26, 2017 by Zaksbarbershop (see edit history)
Guest Zaksbarbershop Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 (edited) I replaced the pcv found the other end of that disconnected hose and and put seafoam in everthing..... update. The check engine light is off and i havent had the accelerating or idle issue. Still feels under powered though..... Edited August 26, 2017 by Zaksbarbershop (see edit history)
Hemi Dude Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Have you checked the timing, correctly, with the coolant temp sensor disconnected?
Bill Reichert Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 I tried to buy an identical one with the brake conversion in Florissant Mo. a few years ago and the guy wouldn't set a price. May be the same one. I wound up buying one at Scott AFB for...ARE YOU READY?... for $3,000 two years ago. He actually dropped the agreed on price when I went to pay him. I found out the 30 year old low mileage cars have everything break that should have broken over the past 30 years after I bought it. It will be fun to drive when you get it fixed.
Guest Zaksbarbershop Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Everything is fixed and running smooth!! Luckily hoses and inexpensive parts.. its a zippy little car but im above average size guy and a barber... not a mechanic. Ill most likely be listing it for sale. Its got all new belts, hoses, and tires. But that ate up most of the money i was going to put into minor cosmetics.
Mark_Blodgett Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 If everything is running keep it and drive it. More fun than you can manage. As for size take the top off easer to get in and out . You'll get use to it. Take it from a round man 350lb. It's my daily driver. Cosmetics come second year around. Keep the car and enjoy it.
