JACK M Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Would like a nice AM FM to fit my 300. I am pretty sure that the radio number is #366. Must be working or rebuilt or at least rebuildable. Also want to replace with new speakers.
JACK M Posted August 23, 2017 Author Posted August 23, 2017 Not yet. I was hoping there might be an easier route. I am out of town for as couple of days. leaving here in a few minutes. If I cant fish out a rebuilt I may have to make a trip up there.
Guest Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) Jack, that seems to be a fairly hard to find item, but there is one currently listed on eBay. Item number 253092588327. Listed as not working but looks very clean and buy it now price is only $124.95. Greg Edited August 23, 2017 by Guest (see edit history)
JACK M Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 Thanks Greg, I did see this one. The guy has many radios listed. It is on my list of possibilities.
Guest Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I have a good radio repair guy if you need one. Pretty fast, very fairly priced too.
JACK M Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 Thanks for that. Unless I find one from a rebuilder I will probably want to have any used one that I get looked over and tested throughout. I want to put new speakers as well.
JACK M Posted August 25, 2017 Author Posted August 25, 2017 OK, Here's an update. There is a guy in Washington state that will update my original AM radio. He tells me that there is new technology where one would quickly turn the radio off and on again and it will switch to am FM tuner. (he called it a chip) The AM dial will not be accurate of coarse but when I would find the channel I want on the dial manually I can set one of the push buttons to it. There would be two AM buttons and three FM buttons. He also can fix me up with blue tooth and streaming for extra money. It sounds like my best answer as I have now discovered that there are no rear speakers in the car and not wired for them. So this would be a front speaker mono radio that looks absolutely stock but can tune FM. (works for me) Any of you antique guys out there have any thoughts on this? As for cost, its about double of what the guys are asking for non op radios, so its kind of a wash.
