Guest RustyBore Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 This Klaxon horn has been in my position for almost 60 years. The tag reads as follows, KLAXON Trade mark registered Pat'd March 31, 1908 Other patents pending Lovell-McConnel Mfg. Co. *105819 Newark, N.J., USA This horn is complete except for (1) 1/4 NC solid brass round head screw. Door post tapered mount as seen on 1910 White Opera picture published by "American Hammered Piston Rings (Sealed Power) in about 1965. That is the only time I have ever seen this horn. It only has about a 2 inch horn flute. Is there any interest in this horn and what might it's value be. as near as I can tell it is 100% original and works. Pictures will be posted as soon as my wife returns from vacation with my camera. Sorry! Harrah's in Reno and I couldn't agree on a price in 1970 and I have never listed it for sale prior to this. Min Bid is $2,000.00. Harrah's bid was $1,500.00 in 1970. Give me your thoughts please.
brasscarguy Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Just because someone in 1970 offered 2 grand for a horn does not reflect the current market value in my opinion. just sayin' brasscarguy(Ex Harrah's Automobile Collection employee)
