The fuse on back side of ignition switch, what exactly does it protect? Appears like the horn for sure but what else is protected? I added stop lights and turn signals and want to know the best place on existing switch to tie them in (Side, Coil, Rear, Head, Amp meter or Horn)?

Will try to figure out which are hot for each ignition switch position. Had to rebuild switch and fix pot metal cracks in handle. Also what size fuse does the switch require (does not say in user manual)?

thanks for your help

The fuse is there to protect your cars wiring. If you get a dead short it will blow the fuse hopefully before the wiring goes up in smoke. My model 52 had the same fuse and occasionally it would blow the fuse. I found the problem was that little black ants would get into the headlight wiring connector and short out the wiring, putting both head and dip lights on together, blowing the fuse.

To work out the right size fuse to use, add up the wattage of all your bulbs that are likely to be on at any one time and divide that by the voltage, 6v or 12v and it will give you amps. I seem to remember mine was a 30amp fuse.
