Stan W. Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Does anyone know what turns on or off the trunk light on my '85 LeSabre? The light sometimes stays on after I close the lid and it kills the battery. Thanks
SpecialEducation Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Pretty sure my '82 still had the mercury switch in the fixture itself. I could be wrong, I've slept once or twice since then (1998), but I spent a lot of time in that trunk...
NTX5467 Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 If no contact switch (ala dome light in the door jamb), then it's probably a Mercury switch. Until you figure it out, you can just unplug the lamp. The Battery Run-Down Protection would turn it off if it was run by the BCM, as the dome lights are. NTX5467
Stan W. Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 I took the bulb out and the socket and wire are the only thing I can find, no Mercury switch or contact switch. I guess I'll try to track that wire back through the lid. Thanks
