MARK NAVA Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Looking to buy a 1937 Nash Lafayette 400. I don't know anything about this brand of car but I did notice that the car had no running boards. The seller said it was the Victoria model and this was an option, is this true?
Restorer32 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Looks to be slightly modified, especially the chrome around the bottom. I also question the skirts. I could be wrong of course.
HarryLime Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Google Image the make model and year to show the car is missing the runningboards. But sales brochure images show the skirts.
PFitz Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 As soon as your picture loaded, that chrome band had me wondering too . So, I just did a Yahoo search of, "1937 Nash Lafayette 400". There's lots of pictures come up showing them with running boards - all the Victorias, coupes, and the four doors. Plus pix of many that were rodded and still have the running boards. Paul
DavidAU Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 The Standard Catalog of AMERICAN CARS 1805 - 1942 makes no mention of the running boards being a delete option and the photos of 1937 models in the book have running boards. The only options listed are Fender Skirts, Radio, heater, Clock, Cigar lighter, Radio Antenna and Bed conversion.
