Steve Moskowitz Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Today was another special day at AACA. We have had a month or two of amazing literature collection donations to our Library. Huge collections that will pay dividends to future restorers, historians, researchers, writers and the public. Today however was a deliver of a different kind! Cars!! We have received several cars recently including a magnificent 41 Dodge business coupe, a Fiat sports car (that will be sold at the RM Auction this fall in Hershey) and today three (3) cars from former President, Micky Bohne and her husband Don. They will be embarrassed that I am posting here as they always do things quietly with no fanfare including constantly expressing there appreciation to our staff as our burgeoning waist lines will attest to! Two of the cars are on display, a 1914 Metz and a 1910 Brush with the 36 Buick headed to our storage facility, The cars look great in the lobby. Thank you Micky and Don. We will cherish these vehicles and will put them to great use. We have a plan so stay tuned!!! 1 1
Guest Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 (edited) Great day, Great folks, great cars!!! Edited July 24, 2017 by Guest (see edit history)
John S. Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Wow, what a difference a week makes. I was at the AACA Library last Tuesday, and the room was filled with crates from a literature collection. The cars look great. Thanks. John
1937hd45 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Nice lobby shot, looks like it could have been taken in the 1990's. Mitchel looks good, is that one of Benny's '40's? Bob
Terry Bond Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Yes, that's one of Benny's 40's. I drool over that Mitchel every time I visit. The changing showcase displays are always fascinating. Big thanks to Micky and Don. I've seen the Metz many times and it's a fabulous restoration. I hope there will be more display space wherever we wind up in the future with an expanded Library. It's where the history of AACA itself should be told. Terry
1937hd45 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Terry, I've always supported the AACA Library, never had any interest in the loss on the hill, who owns the cars in that lobby photo? Bob
Steve Moskowitz Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 AACA owns all the cars in the lobby. We also have more in storage for when we are able to have a bigger display. A very special collection of cars from a loyal AACA member is being bequeathed to us in his will. We have some ambitious plans about getting the word out about AACA by the use of these cars so stay tuned. By the way, it is Mitchell!
Steve Moskowitz Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 41 My error! Here it is..not a great picture but the car is really nice!

That is good news, so we can be assured that when we make a donation to the AACA LIBRARY our funds go to support the LIBRARY and those cars in the lobby NOT the money pit on the hill, correct? Bob
1937hd45 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Thanks Steve, Great to know the days of the 50/50 split are gone. I stopped donating when the pit took half, I'll start giving again knowing I'm helping my hobby, not someone's ego, or was that egos. Bob
