I owned a 1972 Buick Skylark Converible..I love this car, But dont know if I can & how to recover this car..I worked at a local Boneyard & lost my parking, so asked if I could keep it in the yard next to the NON parts cars..Well, 2 months later, I went to jail for something retarded, upon returning to pick up my car, THE INTERIOR WAS GUTTED!! [deleted]!!! Well, Furious..I went to find owner of this [expletive deleted] boneyard..to No Avail..I was devastated!! Lost & Hopeless I've Given Up..Then, one day in the neighborhood I drove by this boneyard and decided to see if my gutted shell was still there..IT WAS GONE!! I still have the title..If this [edit} jerk sold my car as a project, or as a parts car, or stripped it and parted it out, Or OH MY GOD! crushed it! CAN I SUE HIM! I never went to the police, and it's been almost 2 years..If it was sold and someone fixed it and I still hold the title, can I locate this car! What can I and what should I do!..The boneyard owner claims he aint responsible..says I didnt pay my storage fee..says I abandoned car..(Was in Jail!)..Have another Buick now, just wondering about this now..would be nice to be compensated or get my 72 back.
[This message has been edited by Jody Crockett (edited 11-15-2000).]
[This message has been edited by Jody Crockett (edited 11-15-2000).]

Some suggestions for you,
I dont post much but I read all forums and people get much better responses without all the vulgar typing.
Now, you can track the VIN through your local DMV and see where the car is. BE NICE and approach someone at the DMV and 9 out of 10 times they will be more than willing to help you track it and see if it is currently registerd or what has happened to it.
The boneyard man may have crushed it or he could have played games and swithced VIN plates and sold the car. If this is the case, you are probably looking at a lost cause. If you didnt have a written contract you are probably out of luck.

i think we have been hoodwinked people. unless we are to believe that a buick owner would park their car in a junk yard, go to Jail , and then come back and expect to see the car sitting there shining and feeling clean. I would believe half of it from a ford owner.

Hhmm! Well, sorry bout the vulgar typing..just my feelings. I felt betrayed..this car was a GS convertible..it makes me cry!! Now, about hoodwinking..no hoodwinking here, I did have a written contract, and reciepts for my first couple payments on storage..Where was this car stored..NOT in the junkyard..DUH..the guy that owned this yard had a fenced off & locked parking lot that was separated from the rest of the yard..Thats where my car was placed. I still hold the title, all copies of my registrations of the car since I owned the vehicle from 1991 to 1998 when engine seized and car placed in storage. The guy who owned this yard lives in florida in the winters, and travels to arizona to buy parts and such..hence the reason of not being able to reach him..well, I went there three days ago, and turns out, he says he was unable to locate me about my car..wanted his money for my monthly payment for the storage fee..says after while thought I wouldnt come back..(I think this is garbage..who wouldnt come back for a frame-off restored 72Gs convertible..Minus engine)anyway, car was still there..ULP..with no front clip, rear end, glass, interior, transmission, doors, converible top,..just junk now! This guy feels bad! Says he'll take care of it! This boneyard is full of cars and tons of parts of all kinds of cars from 1956 to 1975..60% of which are Buicks..the boneyard owner himself owns a restored 66 skylark convertible..I mentioned to him that I need parts for my 66 lesabre..He is willing to let me take what I need that he has available, also, whatever he dont have available, said he will find it, get it and give it to me..should I accept this, or should I take him to court for $25K...

Says he'll take care of it huh? If so get it in WRITING. If you can do that you will much better off if he fails to compensate you. Also, keep in mind there is a statue of limitations (usually 2 years) in which you can file and take that guy to court otherwse you have no claim. (that's where getting the owner to give you his "he'll take care of it", in writing would really help)
