auburnseeker Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I recently was fortunate enough to pick up a nice little collection of probably fairly uncommon literature. Mostly 50's Domestic, Excluding Ford. Though there is a nice sampling of Foreign stuff including racing related Mercedes, Jaguar, even Allard and Curtis. Lots of press release stuff including some great glossy photos of the Dream cars. Even letters from mostly GM about everything it's doing with the dream cars. I had a similar thread started accidentally in the For sale section and couldn't get it moved here so I deleted it and started this one, as I just took a bunch of photos to add. You have to even love the artwork and vibrant colors of all the old brochures. These being stored away for years are all super clean with great colors. Enjoy. 1
keiser31 Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Love that Buick convertible in front of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac(w) Island.
auburnseeker Posted July 1, 2017 Author Posted July 1, 2017 I have a 54 and 55 Kit as well. I'm not sure where they shot their photos.
auburnseeker Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 She insisted on being in the picture. Got to keep them happy. It's the Only Auburn Piece in the lot. 1
victorialynn2 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 You sure have a knack for finding neat literature. I love the one you sent me for the Skyliner. I need to get it framed. Was thinking I'd make a color copy of the back and show both sides.
auburnseeker Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 You should have mentioned something. I would have sent you a pair.
John S. Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Interesting photos on prepping the 1956 Chevrolet for Pikes Peak
auburnseeker Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 Yup from back in the day when The new car release was a carnival not to be missed. Now I don't even know when the new models come out. No fan fare no excitement. Even when I ordered a brand new truck one year (it was an all new design) and they were just starting production. None were released yet to the public there was no build up or excitement around it's release. We aren't talking about a cheap stripped work truck either. Probably the only new vehicle I will ever buy. I'll let someone else take the depreciation and keep shipping used ones up from the south to avoid the rust.
