Register European car in USA

Hi,

 

I want to import my car (originating from Germany) in USA, Michigan. It's 2013 BMW Series 3 model.

Is it possible to register and drive my car there? Can I change the licence plates when importing it in the U.S.?

Unless this is a US-spec car that was delivered in Germany with the intention of eventual import, it cannot be legally registered in the US.  Customs will impound it at the dock.  There is an exemption for non-compliant cars over 25 years old, but a car that new must meet all US safety and emissions certifications to be legally registered.
