John32369 Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 The title says it all. I'm fixing to purchase a rough but savable 1948 D-24 business coupe. I know where I can find a complete 1948 club coupe that I can use as a donor car and hopefully I will be able to bring it back to life. Pics to follow soon.
keiser31 Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 (edited) Go, man, go! Best of luck to you. I had one and I let it get away. Wish I had it back. I also had a '41 Dodge business coupe I REALLY wish I had kept. Oh well....can't keep 'em all. Edited June 11, 2017 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Silverdome Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Good Luck and as always pics are welcome and encouraged.
marty14 Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 if you d get it I have some parts for the D-24 Dodges as I owned 7 of them in the early 70s including a bus coupe LMK 1
John32369 Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 She's not much to look at right now but I will do my best to restore her to her former glory 1
keiser31 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 (edited) Excellent start! Is the rear window glass there? Edited June 18, 2017 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Ron Lawson Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Good luck Marty I love those late 40s Mopars . In Australia we only had 1 choice a sedan . I have fond memories of riding in my uncles 48 Plymouth and another one had a Chrysler. Both we great cars

John32369 Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 What do people do for missing back glass? Does anyone make reproductions?
JACK M Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 No reproductions. There is an old guy around here that used to make a 3 dimensional pattern for unavailable windows and then go to the glass warehouse to try and match it to a production windshield. Then cut the unobtainium piece out of the available windshield. He has been doing old car windows for over 50 years ands I am afraid that his quality of work is suffering lately.
John32369 Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 (edited) Would one from a club coupe work, or a sedan? Edited June 20, 2017 by John32369 (see edit history)
