I am not sure if I am using the correct terminology, but where would I find replacement "Studded" head bolts for my '65 401 wildcat engine?? By "Studded", I mean the head bolts with the additional threads on top of the hex head for attaching the power steering pump bracket and rear grounding wires to the firewall. I have looked in the machinery handbook, mcmaster-carr, specialty fasteners, local auto parts stores, etc.. with no luck.

Thanks Nailvalve... TA offers a head bolt kit, but does not include the "Studded" bolts from the original motor...<P>Is it OK to mix new head bolts with the Old "studded" bolts on a rebuild??

I wouldn't mix them. Your performance head bolts most likely have a higher tensile strength. The same torque will yeild a different clamping force which can warp the deck of your block. Why pay good money to have your block bored with a plate if you're warp it? I'd just use the original bolts with a visual inspection. As long as the threads and heads look good and they arn't rusty (pitted), use them. For performance engines I usually use head "studs" from ARP. I don't have a catelog handy, but they may have what you want.

I think you may have gotten the wrong site. It's "www.arp-bolts.com". They list two head stud kits for the 401 "nailhead", with hex nuts it's part# 124-4004, with 12pt nuts it's 124-4204. I don't know if this includes the long studs for brackets or not.
