69CONVS
Looking at possibly picking up a used Dual Gate shifter. It's advertised for a 70-72 442. I was wondering, with so many things common from 69-72 (I know that there are a lot of just 70-72 items also) would this shifter fit in my 69 Cutlass S Convertible with a TH350? I'm not opposed to modifying it to fit, so if it doesn't, does anyone know how much would have to be changed to get it to fit?
Thanks,
Tom Bejma
69 Cutlass Convertible
[H/O Clone]
rocketraider
69 used the short console and I don't think the Dual/Gate will fit it. Hurst/Olds had its own specific console for D/G. Shouldn't be any problem to adapt a 70-72 console to the 69 car though. Cut out the 70-72 shifter area to fit the DG and that end should be set. Think Hurst/ Mr Gasket offers a generic dual/gate console that might be more in line with what you need for a Hurst ragtop clone.
You may have to do a little modification to the transmission end shift cable bracket or use an aftermarket part.
