Guest
What do I need to do to convert my 70 Cutlass driver bucket seat to power?<BR>Thanks
rocketraider
You'll need a 66-72 power seat frame and tracks. For power run a 10 gage wire with 40 amp circuit breaker from junction block to the seat area. You might have a BAT terminal in the fuse block you could use for power, but you still need to have the circuit breaker inline.
66400
You will also find you need the seat track mounting bracket that is spot welded to the floor. Cut one out of a parts car or the restoration parts sellers do offer a reproduction replacment. Henry.
Guest
Thanks for the information. Any recommendations on a seller for the power seat parts? I am new to the "Olds" family having spent the last 23 years with 69 Vettes.
66400
They are the same in any '66-'72 GM "A" body car, Chevrolet Chevelles, Monte Carlos, Pontiac Lemans, Buick Skylarks and '69-'72 Pontiac Grand Prixs. Being a higher price personal sports/luxury car you'll find a large number of Grand Prixs with a drive side power bucket seat. Henry
rocketraider
Except for backrest latches, weren't all the Strato-Bucket seats the same? as in all 66-72 bucket seat GM cars used the same shell and frame? I replaced a Strato-Bench backrest cover on my Toro with one from a 71 A-body bucket...
