Is this a motorcycle item?

Early 1920 patent. I found a Navy aircraft version exact duplicate.  But this has no aircraft markings.

I'm sure it's not motorcycle related. I would have said it's an aircraft tacho, if anything, similar to this one;

I"m not an aircraft person, but all the items I have and seen that are aircraft related, have clear indication they are for that purpose. The Spirit of St Louis has a perfect match except its called a model B.

I don't claim to know everything and I hope that didn't sound too authoritative !  I should have added that I have been playing with vintage motorcycles for over 50 years and have a  diverse  collection

Last year I cleaned out some cars going to the crusher and found parts later identified as 29 Harley. (Sold here) I belong to the school "Nothing ventured nothing gained". If the parts don't fit the Plymouths they are going.
