So rather than the wiring diagram you want wire routing picture or two?

I asked the www for "1941 Chrysler Engine" and then Images and got this one, amoung many. 1941ChryslerEngine.thumb.jpg.df661db506272f657e7046e1a0a27780.jpgMaybe you can get what you need from such pictures?

Show us what you have done and we'll see. According to the diagram, the switch is a single wire make-break switch to earth. The plunger = switch is actuated by the accelerator at full throttle.

Firstly, it sounds like you need to buy a shop manual. They are much cheaper than the damage you could be doing.

Secondly, here is the rest of the info. from MoToR's Manual 1947. I only looked at the wiring diagrams before. Maybe there is more to your non-functioning kick-down than you think.

hi

i have both the 40 and the 41 shop manual but the instructions are no where near as clear as the Motors manual! Thank you very much for this pages!I will investigate this weekend ,seems it can only be the wiring as i have replaced EVERYTHING else! Its odd as in every other respect the vacumatic works perfectly ,shifting up and down exactly as it should. Only the flooring of the accelerator in fourth does nothing and it should shift down to third.

Here is what the KD switch looks like that's in your carter 1BBL carb...sometimes they are assembled wrong or the contacts are dirty ... or the spring tension   is wrong.

Use a ohm meter to test it.... one lead to the screw terminal the other lead to ground... or a test light hooked up the same way. Push the brass plunger in and out see what ya got!
