Frank Wilkie Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 This is a NOS Delco Remy Coil #2180 .. Can anyone identify it what it's for? vehicle or other?
DavidMc Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Looks like the coil on the 1926 Buick that I owned years ago
26-25Buick Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 (edited) DaveMc, it certainly looks the same as a 26 Buick Standard 6 coil although the mount at the bottom is different as the coil in the 26 Standard 6 bolts directly to the top of the generator. Could it be off a Buick Master of the same period? Frank, Might be worth posting on prewar Buick forum, someone there will probably recognise it if it is Buick. Layden B Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 For Delco #2180 I find no automotive listing. Delco #2188 is Buick all models 1926-28.
JFranklin Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Other than the riveted bracket, it is same as on a 1920s Nash. Maybe used on a stationary engine, but minus the bracket it might have common auto usage. If it works it would have some value.
