350 Head Swap

This 71 Cutlass I'm working on right now has a newer 350 in it (1977-80). It has 3A heads on it right now which I know are "smoggers" (76cc chamber I think???) so I'd like to swap on a set of #7's, that I have sitting around waiting for another project engine. I have the bolt holes drilled for 1/2" bolts already (they're going on a diesel block in the future), and the heads have been mildly ported. <P>Does anyone know what approximately the compression ratio will be after this head swap? I think the 77-80 engines had flat top pistons did they not. The #7's are 64cc chambers.

if that year uses the same piston as my 75 which I believe it does. Then you will end up with a compression ratio of 9.2 theoreticly. Stock is 8.5, the teoretic part is becuse the new head gaskets are thicker than they were back then. Look for one of the thinner gaskets and you should be around the 9.2 cr.
