1964carlito Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I found this stamped peice in the trunk of my 39 Pontiac Business Coupe. Anyone know what it might be?
keiser31 Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 (edited) Maybe some sort of lift-out panel that goes behind or under the seat? Edited April 29, 2017 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Rusty_OToole Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I don't know but you should put it away carefully where you will be able to find it again. Sooner or later you will need it.
Curti Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Maybe a space filler at the very rear of the body in the trunk. Consider posting this in the 'What is it ' forum just above.
Spinneyhill Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 The drilled holes look like they might have covered a pair of radio speakers.
Rusty_OToole Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 It may not even be for the car but if you throw it out sure as hell you will need it. Best to put it away, sooner or later you will see where it goes. I have had this experience many times when working on an old car. That weird hunk of steel or rubber that couldn't possibly be for your car, turns out to be some irreplaceable part if you throw it away. 1
Larry Schramm Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 My vote is for a package shelf behind the rear seat of a sedan.
