New Yorker 1947 tyrans sounds as knocking

Hi

I have a question, I'm the owner of the New Yorker from 1947 Straight 8 engine, I jus finish to Renovate the car, but when I star to drive there is a the sound noice fron the tyrans sounds as knocking, tiktik, when I add more gas, you can hear it faster but it drivs.

If anyone know what can that be? Should I be worry?

The sound comes from the gearbox
You can hear it when the car is standing
The sound is rhythmic and constant
when the clutch is pressured you can almost not heard

But when I go faster it is more frequent but still rhythmic constant

do you know what that can be?

I would be grateful for any answer.

Throw out bearing?

I once had a fly wheel loosen up.

It was a 56 Ford but it made a constant clunk, clunk when idling.

That is where I would start. 

With a manual transmission it would require dropping the transmission and clutch / pressure plate.

What was done to the drive train in the resto?

nothing was dan to the drive train.

You may have to put the car on a lift or go under the car on stands with it running. You should be able to hear  if it is coming from the flywheel, gearbox, or U joint.
