1956322 Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Can anyone tell me where this check valve is or maybe post a picture??
1956322 Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 Power brakes.. The vacuum check valve not the hydraulic one that the lines go to
Beemon Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 It should be at the end of the steel vacuum line to the brake vacuum T, where the rubber hose attaches to. You need to get it apart with an impact gun. That piece, at the edge of the valve cover, right before the washer jar where the rubber hose is attached. I do not know what's inside as I haven't done mine yet. I do know mine doesn't work because when I take the rubber hose off, it sucks air. You will need to find a correct copper compression sleeve, too. I'm thinking it's probably just like the brake line check valve, but don't quote me on that.
Bhigdog Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 With engine running it's supposed to pull a vacuum (suck air) with hose off. Run engine, shut down engine, wait 5 mins or so, pull hose. If there is an inrush of air into the hose the valve is holding a vacuum as it should.................Bob
1956322 Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 Just tested mine.. Seems to work..I can suck air but I can't blow through it 1

Even with a double failure: I.E. engine quits and a faulty check valve you will still have manual brakes...... or so sayeth the book.....Bob 2
