Even though it's having a bit of an identity crisis, that's gorgeous. And I don't even like '57 Chevys.
RivNut
Pretty popular in the day was a 57 Chevy Bel Aire with a 57 Buick grill.

neil morse
I'm on a trip to Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. I didn't expect to find any vintage Buicks here, but I found this '47 restomod today.

Maybe accessibility? Easier to procure when doing the work? At any rate, look at the engine and transmission almost completely in the location of the former Straight 8 ! 😁

How do you suppose the radiator was installed?
neil morse
The owner was working on the interior when I came along. He bought it recently in pretty much the shape you see in the photos. He said the body had been mounted on a Chevy truck frame. I didn't even notice the radiator situation -- very odd, as Ken says. The main thing I noticed under the hood was how much space there was between the firewall and the engine -- at least two feet. Here's a pic of the inside -- other than the dash, it was stripped clean.
JohnD1956
And, it is together in terms of the body. Maybe they haven't figured out the radiator yet?
neil morse
No, he said it was running and driving when he bought it. He had just pulled the interior apart to redo it. It had seats in it when he got it. Maybe the radiator is tucked way down in front somehow?

Using an electric fan allows some creativity under the cavernous front fender wells. However, instead of somewhat near ambient temperature being introduced to the radiator during engine operation, the radiator now sees preheated air from the engine compartment. I suppose a larger radiator and multiple fans could possibly accomodate that though. Just curious as the dickens at this point and always interested in unique solutions. RivNut
I think the radiator has been pulled and the way the hose is tucked you can't see the end of it.

RivNut
Reminds me of some of the 60's Buick ads in which the convertible tops matched the dresses being worn by the models.
