EmTee Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Sounds like a nice car -- if you like it, that's all that matters. I certainly wouldn't mind having one follow me home... https://www.hometownbuick.com/portfolio/1957-buick-roadmaster-riviera-sedan-model-73/
John_S_in_Penna Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Mr. Automall, are you buying this to enjoy for a while, or to try to resell immediately?
Guest Backstreetautomall Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 To enjoy it's just I have never own one I have 56and57 Chev's never a Buick but It looks nice I just don't know anything about them. Thanks Bruce
John_S_in_Penna Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 (edited) Bruce, I have a 1957 Buick Century 4-door hardtop. I've had it as an antique car for many years: It was my first. Yes, they are very good cars. I know of no unreliable areas. Ball joints for that year were a one-year item and were hard to find, at least in the past. (Does anyone reproduce them now?) But in all the years I've never needed any. And some people might find the Dynaflow automatic transmission mushier than GM's Hydramatic (used in some other divisions' cars), but I have no qualms about that either. The exhaust pipes exit through the rear bumper corners, so those bumper corners may be more likely to rust, so that's one thing to check on your car. The 1957 Buicks, with their "sweep-spear" side moldings and colorful 2-tone paint, are excellent looking and driving cars. You'll be glad to own something a little different when you go to shows. So, if the car and the price are both to your liking, go ahead and get it! Edited April 22, 2017 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)

John_S_in_Penna Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 And Bruce, let us know how you make out-- whether you decide to get it or not. When Forum friends get a new old car and tell us about it, it's almost like experiencing the enjoyment ourselves.
