dl456
Hello, I am assembling the dash on my 47 Continental and have a few questions. The car was supposed to be back together rather quickly after being down but things happen and now it has been 7 years. Hard to believe! Where does the turn signal flasher mount. I thought it was down by the resistors and circuit breaker but don't see any holes. There is a bracket on the back of the clock that looks like it may have had a ground strap or something attached. It is definitely factory and there for a reason, but I just don't remember. Probably be more. Thanks in advance. Dennis
Waldren
the flasher mounts on the electrical breaker bolt. The clock has ground L brackets that holds in in to the dash and the adjustment cable to set the clock How about a picture?
Tom_Overfield
Here ya go JL, the stud on top of the circuit breaker, attaches with a nut and washer. Tom Edited April 21, 2017 by Tom_Overfield (see edit history)
dl456
Thanks guys, In the shop over the weekend and these parts are done. Harnesses installed, car is running and all gauges work. Where does the speedo cable and Overdrive cable exit the cabin? I am out of holes/grommets on the firewall. Do these exit through the transmission cover? Thanks again, Dennis
Waldren
Go thru firewall. Will try for photo . Not thru transmission cover. Lee
dl456
Thanks Lee, I'll wait for photo because I appear to be out of holes and grommets for these cables. I have identified the hood release, fresh air cable , throttle and choke rods and the one large grommet for the harness. Dennis
Tom_Overfield
Here is where the speedometer cable enters on my 41 Continental, under drivers side from fender you should see a one inch hole next to a wiring harness. The cable feeds up into that hole, then across to the speedometer.
