1938 light control modes

I'm trying to figure out how Buick's Multi-beam system works correctly. Reading all the the books and information I got I'm still not sure, must be my bad english :-)

Can anyone tell me if the lights are working correctly as listed below? I'm wondering if the "Country passing beam" mode is correct on my car and if its realy the RH lamp tilting or if a wire is misconnected.

Thanks, Werner

You're welcome.  I puzzled over this for a long time until I realized that by "passing beam" they mean the mode for passing by the on-coming car - the guy coming from the other direction!  Not for passing (overtaking) someone going the same direction.  It all makes sense when you realize that the driver's side beam is illuminating the right side of the road.  The beam on the passenger side gets dimmed for the sake of the on-coming car.

Yes, it makes sense. I got the "passing story" but I wasn't sure when I tried all the modes beaming against a white wall to adjust the lamps. The right one was altered in such a manner it pointing anywhere. Looking at the picture in the manual helped but I just want to be sure.:)
