Guest Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 I'm just not happy with my orig. tank so I'd like to change it out for a new one. Trouble is, only thing available seems to be these new poly (plastic) tanks. They sell on eBay for $233. Wondering if anyone has used one, how was fit/finish? Thanks, Greg
jpage Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Greg, if you have a good tinsmith shop in your area I would ask them if they could build you a new tank. I had a local shop make one for my '36 Dodge and it came out perfect. It was made from galvanized sheet stock with rolled and soldered ends. He was able to install the correct type baffle too. He reused all the original hardware and it fit like a glove. 2
Guest Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Y'know Jim, my problem was that my tank was loose inside the straps when tightened. Not a little loose, quite a bit loose. My tank looks identical to yours. Could you possibly give me and end measurement? Just the height and depth of the oval tank side would work, if you could. Kind regards, Greg
