gmbwrenchn
Can someone tell me if this is a blower motor or wiper motor. Have a bunch of these on hand (6v and 12v). Want to throw them on e-bay. Thanks
Friartuck
Could be a multi speed blower motor. Have you tried connecting the red and black to 6 volts? Yellow and green could be for low and medium speed. There are some instances where connecting two wires together to make it reversible.
gmbwrenchn
I don't have a 6 v power source. 5V..............but it won't turn. Pretty sure I believe it is a blower motor. Now I just need some sort of way of determining the application for it via the stamped numbers on it. At a dead end online anywhere. Any info would be a great help. misterc9
Does it have a brand name on it? Post all the the numbers as they're hard to read in the picture. Looks like a universal after market replacement rather than an original part. Six volt stuff usually came with cloth insulated wire.
Friartuck
This could be a late 40's-early 50's 6 volt motor. Still could be a 6 volt without cloth covered wire. If you have access to a voltmeter, you could connect the leads to the wires and lightly spin the shaft. You should see some output like 1.0-1.5 volts and spinning the shaft the opposite direction should show negative voltage results. Go through all the combinations and the note readings. Likely there is a common, like black and the other leads would be the speeds. The lead pair that yields the highest output would be the high speed leads.
