John, all the best to you in your search.

You probably realize that the more specific

your criteria are, the more cars you eliminate.

By requiring a certain color, no 2-tones, a certain engine,

a certain transmission, specific options, and

an original survivor state, you may have eliminated

98% of all the 1955 Chevrolets.

 

Since 1955 Chevies are common, you probably

still have a chance, and let us know how you make out.

We'll be rooting for you.

I saw the exact car described up at Stowe, Vermont car show a few years ago. Still black and beautiful and unrestored, fairly low mileage, and driven by the original owner. He was not inclined to sell at the time of course.   Jim43

Just think of all the nice survivor type 55 Chevies that were restored when #1 cars were all the rage.  Who would have thought.

John, have you ever considered that, when you

want something very specific, restoring one is

the way to go?  That way, you can choose your

colors, maybe put in the correct engine, etc.

That way you'll be able to meet all of your exacting

criteria.
