Detail, you want detail?  Look at the numbers on the edge of the trunk lid, hard to see it but number is 56-18.  56 indicating Cabrolet, 18 indicating the body number.  Continental trunk lids were made to fit the body, so that's how you can determine if the lid was original or not.

Naturally that edge was pitted pretty bad when I got the car, so I had to put filler along that edge making it smooth.  Before the filler set fully, I pressed the original number back in the same location.
