Beltfed
Picked this up today to put on the the wall of my man cave. Can anyone tell me the brand? Just curious in case someone ask. Also, the device attached to the rim. Is it worth hanging on the wall or just toss?
Larry Schramm
The item in the third picture is a rim spreader. It is used for removing and replacing the tire and tube on rims that have a break in them like the one shown. You turn the part where the gear is (The crank is broken off) and it gets larger one way and smaller the other way. Don't know the id of the wheel. keiser31
What size is the tire? That may help with the identification.
Beltfed
I get the tire size and id to you tomorrow. Edited January 30, 2017 by Beltfed (see edit history)
keiser31
Also, a closer photo of the clamp on the outer rim that the tire is on would help.
41 Su8
It looks to me like a 21 " Ford split rim for balloon tire.
vintchry
My inclination is Plymouth. Dodge, DeSoto or Chrysler, 1930/31. The clamps look like the ones on my 30 Chrysler CJ, Plymouth used these also for a while. 4 bolt is another similarity. From reading the tape measure it appears to be a 19" where the tire would seat on the rim. IMO Rob
keiser31
I was thinking maybe 1930 Dodge, too. 1931s have ten spokes. Edited January 30, 2017 by keiser31 (see edit history)

nzcarnerd
3.25 x 19 is a pretty skinny tyre. Looks more like a 'modern' motorcycle trail bike tyre. Some more pics of the other details on the tyre would confirm its origin. My '29 Plymouth is on 475/5.00 x 20s.
