Larry Schramm
Why change the engine? If you want to put a small block into your Ford you would be better to try one of the hot rod forums for help. Most of the persons on this site are more interested in having an original car or how to get a car back to original.
padgett
Lessee: 4500 lbs and a Chev 350 ? LT1 ? Better off just finding a 428. Should be a bolt in (390 was a boat anchor) and stay Ferd.
Durant Mike
WHAT, put a Chevy engine in a T-Bird!, WHY!
padgett
He may have one sitting in the garage that needs a home. Stranger swaps than that have happened. Just not exactly the right place to ask.
Xander Wildeisen
Bang for your buck. Most cars have a low finished value. Ford motors can be double the price of a 350/350. Better on the road making people smile, then sitting on blocks in the backyard.
60FlatTop
If you use the same thought process to do the swap that you used to post the question on this forum I would recommend you shop for a T-Bird that already has an SBC in it. BTW, what did you think of that big horseshoe shaped piece of plate steel bolted to either side of the transmission tunnel? Bernie
JACK M
I have a buddy that has a SBC 350/350, he has had it in a couple of cars, Mostly big Mopars. After he derbys the thing to death he finds another car.
misterc9
Sounds like a nightmare.Tbird has the oil pan sump in front. Chevy has it in the rear. The problems and modifications would be endless.

I totally agree with that, and I do understand that many people these days have a very small budget. But... I also have seen so many oddball swaps get abandoned because the owner never really understood just how many things need to be bought to make a swap happen. They get in over their heads. Many seem to think that getting the motor to bolt in there is the big part of the job, but all the needed exhaust/driveshaft/plumbing/electrical parts add up so quick. 2 hours ago, misterc9 said: Tbird has the oil pan sump in front. There may be a way; There is a Long Island NY guy on HAMB that put a chevy 350 into his 59 full size Ford. He is a retired machinist, and I doubt he butchered it. Try asking on HAMB, but 1965 is their absolute cut-off date to be Ok there, but they might delete the thread you start.
