Terry Bond
If you are planning to be at the AACA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia and have an interest in brass age vehicles and especially collecting brass lamps, be sure to attend the BRASS IS BEAUTIFUL seminar. I'm putting together another edition of what I started last year with lots information about brass age motoring, brass lamps, and a look at a few amazing Edwardian automobiles. I might even bring a few pieces for show-n-tell. I just picked up this little gem from over in England - it's a small celluloid postage stamp carrier that served as advertising for Lucas automobile lamps. Inside the little celluloid sleve is an insert that provides recommended "Lighting up" times indifferent locations around the UK. This little insert is quite delicate and is made in two parts, held together with a little red, white and blue ribbon. Postage stamps are held between the two pieces. The original tissue paper is still in place to protect the stamps. I'm always amazed at how things like this manage to survive for so long. Needless to say, it's a real prize among my collection of brass lamp related advertising stuff. See you in Philly. Terry
