Dosmo
I'm interested in the make of car where the guy is standing looking at the engine. Is the car a Chrysler?
keiser31
Yes. Looks like maybe a 1926 Chrysler by the drum style headlamps and that style bumper. I used to have a 1926 Model 58. Those all look like Chryslers. Edited January 12, 2017 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Dave Henderson
The thing about the elevated coupe that seems unusual to me is the rear-hinged door, ala Hudson and Essex, but which I don't think it is.
roysboystoys
I think Hudson used a piano hinge

I missed the rear hinges. NOT a Chrysler, then.
nzcarnerd
That coupe has me intrigued. It looks at a glance to be Chrysler but I see it has a 'motometer' instead of the Chrysler winged radiator cap. It has the vacuum tank and Hydraulic fluid reservoir like a Chrysler though. It has four bolt rims - generally a sign of lower price car. I note the hubcaps look to be hexagonal - like an Essex or some Willys models. Another point is there are four door hinges. nzcarnerd
Done a bit of research and I reckon the nearest I can find is 1926 Overland - the last year before it became the Whippet. I can't find a picture of a coupe but this coach has all the elements of the four bolt rims, the hex caps, the rear hinged doors with four hinges and the body mouldings in the right place -

28 Chrysler
The car with the guy standing by is a Chrysler 4. It has the winged cap and a cutout on top of the generator. The headlights are the correct profile for the 4 cylinder cars and if you look closely you can see part of a "C: on the grease cap.
