Guest Dodge_D24
Happy New Year everyone. I just bought a Chrysler Royal 1941 in good unrestored condition with a nice patina in Missouri. It was partly dismantled, as the hood, fenders and all chrome pieces were taken off. When the car was hauled open on a trailer from Missouri to Texas, the hood flew off as the seller did not bother to bolt the loose hood on and failed to inform the shipper about it. It is now probably in a ditch between Missouri and Texas. I feel sick. Does anyone have or know about a decent hood (butterfly type) for a 1941 Chrysler Royal or Windsor? 1941 was the only year with this hood, and it has to be from a 6 cyl. car. A parts car may also be of interest. Enclose a picture of the correct hood from another car. Louvers are not original.

g-g-g0
Try Vintage Automotive, Mountain Home Idaho. Phone # 208 587 3743 or go to Jimsvintageautomotive.com and check out the "parts cars". Under Chrysler Parts Cars he shows a '41 Royal and a '41 Windsor. Good Luck!

Hudsy Wudsy
I have no idea what, if any, difference there is between a hood for a Royal and a hood for a Windsor, but there's a '41 Windsor for sale for only $700 on C/L in Eastern NB. The funny thing is, it doesn't have a hood on it in the pictures, but the seller doesn't mention that it's missing. I guess that all you have to do is ask. The nice front bumper, grille and sheet metal might go a long ways towards recouping your $700: http://omaha.craigslist.org/cto/5935233298.html

StillOutThere
Give a call to Browne's Auto Salvage, Sunset, TX. They have a number of prewar cars in the yard. I've walked it but of course was not looking for your hood. Fair chance Trenton has it. He is knowledgeable and prices are very good. They have web page and are on Facebook.
