Pulled the seats from storage and fixed some broken frame bolts. Tried the rear seat in place to se how that upper rail will fit. See I got this car completely disassembled. Tomorrow I will take the seats to the upholstery shop. Just playing ahead for final assembly

Removed the hood to refinish the inside again. In addition The hood developed sporadic very small fish eye condition on the exterior new paint which I’m not happy with. Going back to the body shop for repaint. Rest of the car is ok. The buffer man told me to let sit for two more weeks for curing so if I repaint the hood next week, I’m looking about another month to begin putting Toby together.

Well another setback. The hood still at the body shop being repainted but the compressor went down and is being repaired. I guess getting Toby together will coincide with my upcoming retirement next July 31st.

Well is been two weeks of rain and high humidity. The painter do no want to paint  the hood in those conditions. The paint on the rest of the car has been curing, I will say about a month now. Can’t Polish the car yet, I’m afraid I just have to wait until hood is painted and cured. In the mean time, just putting some trim parts together.

On a rainy day, the upholster is hard at work. This is a sequence of one rear back cushion being Covered with a Chevron type pattern very similar to the original material. When I did the 54, I purchased the material Through SMS at $95.00 @ yard, it took 5 yards of cloth and another 3 yards of vinyl to do the entire car. This time I did my homework and bought 8 yards of remnants for less than $10.00 a yard from  Fabric Guru, an internet site. Sorry, the sequence of pictures is inverted.

Hood is back from the body shop and installed back on the car. Looks much better now but will have to wait for paint to cure to polish the entire car

There are some minor surface dust particles that will be remove if the paint is polish. This is a base coat/clear coat job, 3 coats of clear. The whole car is to be sanded down with 3,000 to 6,000 grit paper and then buffed to finish.

Good deal.  You'll be amazed at how good it can look with a cut and buff.

Doors, fenders and hood were aligned and adjusted for proper fit. Blue tape marks location of small scratches that were unintentionally made while making final adjustments. Paint have to be touch up in those area, will be using an airbrush system. Next will be polishing so I can start assembly. Way overdue!
