john walker's workshop
I have the split windshields out and apart for rechroming, and need to source new rubber. Around the frames and on the body in front of the dash panel, that the frames close onto. Steele or Metro moulded? Was the quality decent? The frame rubber comes by the foot and needs to be joined at the bottom of each frame with a superglued miter. Should I do that on the inside bottom corner or the outside bottom, or both? I'm thinking both. Thanks, John Walker Edited December 20, 2016 by john walker's workshop (see edit history)
vintchry
John, Both is correct or you will find one end "flaring" out. I have had good success with Steele. Don't forget the sponge rubber around the inside to help seal. Rob
john walker's workshop
I don't see the sponge rubber listed at Steele, do you?

You will probably have to go to the weatherstrip section at a hardware store in order to get the foam strip.
john walker's workshop
The foam seal appears to have a rounded profile, a D shaped cross-section.
Spinneyhill
A D-section sounds like a draught strip at the hardware shop.
