mensanguy
The first TC I owned had a unique 'theft-prevention" device on it. Hidden away out of sight, on the backside of the front dash console storage nook was a toggle switch that would stop the vehicle from being started. The ignition would turn on, I believe, but nothing with the starter motor would function. Not sure exactly how it was wired, but I am sure that it interrupted the starter solenoid circuit. I am planning on doing something similar to my other TC's, in that the steering column lock is something of a joke, and can be easily defeated with a medium-sized screwdriver. Does anyone have any other ideas that would be better than disrupting the starter solenoid circuit? Never tried, but can our cars be easily "hot-wired?" Reaper1
If you interrupt the signal to the ASD relay the car won't start at all, regardless if they try to hotwire it.
