Guest Myaz B. Dragon
34 Plymouth Oil Pressure Relief Valve. I have a 34 Plymouth Cabriolet that needed a new engine as the previous owner had put a 40s Chrysler in it. I bought a used PE engine that was supposed to be in good shape. I finally got it in the car and started. No oil pressure. I found that it had no oil pressure relief spring in it. I am trying to find out if it has a plunger in it or not. It has a reduced bore from the plug threads of .75. The bore is about .50. I thought at first that I was looking at the plunger, because Bernbaum has a new plunger that measures .65 +/- ,and the bore for a very short distance is about that . It looks like the reduced bore is part of the engine. There is no chamfer on the end like a plunger would have. It just looks like part of the casting. I don't want to pull too hard on it as it might be part of the casting. Does anyone know if the 34 had a plunger that was about .50 dia, or if anyone has any other ideas ?
