Buicknutty
Folks, the spotlight bulb on my '41 Roadmaster is bad and I was wondering if anyone out there has one they could sell me. It is a "Guide" bulb, about 5" across with a single terminal on the back in the centre. On the underside of the main housing, it looks like it says S 18. Thank you very much for looking. Matt Harwood
Wow, I've never seen one like that before. The spotlight on my '41 Limited is just a smaller Mazda-style plug in bulb with a reflector. Yours looks more like a kind of sealed beam setup. Sorry I can't help, I've just never seen one like that. I hope you find one intact!
50jetback
Guide sealed unit part number 929116. The cap over the globe should read SEALED Guide SPOT Keep an eye on ebay - they sometimes come up NOS but seem expensive May be cheaper to buy a complete S/H unit with a good sealed unit? .http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-GM-Pontiac-Buick-Cadillac-Guide-S-18-Sealed-Beam-Automobile-Spot-Light-/142185649374?hash=item211aecd4de:g:yHoAAOSwcUBYJMkg Edited November 27, 2016 by 50jetback (see edit history)
Buicknutty
Matt, the ones I've seen have a different terminal on the back, and yes it is a sealed beam, like the headlights are. 50jetback, thank you very much for the info. It does say Guide, Sealed, Spot. Keith
